Welcome to my page! My name is Annika Nilsson, a Lester B. Pearson Scholar at the University of Toronto. I am a linguistics major who hopes to research education policy in application to online learning. I have a large portfolio that covers a range of interests, so I hope this page can cover some of my life, personality, and qualifications. About Me
I grew up in Watkinsville, a small community twenty minutes away from Athens, Georgia. I attended high school at Oconee County High School while taking classes at the University of Georgia to quench my thirst for knowledge about the world around me. My career experience and skills have grown from my adolescent hobbies: tutoring and video editing. As the head of my high school's tutoring club, I became incredibly passionate about teaching and providing educational materials. Simultaneously, I explored many different Adobe programs both recreationally and professionally. I am now a student at the University of Toronto who is combining my eight years of video editing experience with degrees in linguistics and education to promote a society where online education is effective, engaging, and available to all. I hope to be accepted into the MA of Child Study and Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education in my third year so that I can apply for a doctoral degree in 2026.

Video Editing
I began video editing as a hobby when I was nine years old. Continuing this hobby throughout middle and high school, I have come a long way from my Animal Jam iMovie videos. As you can see from the media above, I do not have quality video or audio equipment, so I specialize in animation and post-production video editing. I hope to expand my editing portfolio this coming summer so that I will have many more examples of my work when this website is next updated.
